14th MUHAS Scientific Conference 📝
The POETIC Tanzania team participated in the 14th MUHAS Scientific Conference, where we showcased research and innovations aimed at strengthening the care of critically ill patients in Tanzania.
Under the conference theme, “Innovating for Resilient and Sustainable Universal Health Coverage in the Era of Shifting Global Health Financing,” our team contributed evidence that supports stronger, more equitable, and sustainable health systems.
Our presentations included:
🔹 Elibariki Mkumbo -How critically ill patients and their families experience hospital care in Tanzania.
🔹 Dr. Abbas Kiwae – Critical Illness Characteristics in Primary Health Care Facilities in Tanzania.
🔹 Alma Damasy – Development of the Essential Emergency and Critical Care (EECC) Centre in Songwe.
🔹 Dr. Aneth Kaliza – Healthcare Workers’ Knowledge of Essential Emergency and Critical Care.
Each presentation reflected our commitment to generating evidence that informs policy, strengthens health systems, and advances high-quality Essential Emergency and Critical Care for every patient who needs it.
We are grateful for the opportunity to share our work, learn from fellow researchers, and contribute to the conversation on building resilient health systems for the future.
