We were proud to have POETIC members Anna and Karima representing us and EECC Global at the World Congress of Anaesthesiologists in Marrakech, alongside more than 10 EECC Champions from across the world.
Together, we highlighted gaps in the provision of EECC and continued to advocate for every patient’s right to receive it.
Key contributions included:
* EECC Global booth: engaging with national societies and advocating for the WFSA declaration on patients’ rights to EECC
* Scientific sessions: a series of presentations delivered on:
The African Critical Illness Outcomes Study and perioperative critical care
Securing funding for research and implementation
Ethics and equity in global critical care collaborations
* Poster presentation highlighting unmet EECC needs in a high-income setting such as Sweden
* Open EECC meeting where we shared findings from the EECCiT program and discussed the future direction of EECC globally.
It was an inspiring week of collaboration, reflection, and renewed commitment to improving care for critically ill patients, everywhere.
