EECC champion Dr. Maynard Makere and the EECC team from KCMC had the privilege of engaging with the Regional Medical Officer (RMO), District Medical Officers (DMOs), hospital directors, department heads, and other key stakeholders across the Kilimanjaro region to advance the Essential Emergency and Critical Care (EECC) initiative.
The discussions reflected strong leadership, collaboration, and a shared commitment to improving quality of care. The discussions concluded with strong and unified support from the RMO, DMOs, and hospital directors for the integration and scale-up of EECC across the Kilimanjaro region.
We also conducted a site visit at TPC Hospital, assessing ward readiness for EECC implementation, an insightful experience highlighting both strengths and opportunities for strengthening emergency and critical care services.
