Strengthening the Health Management Information Systems (HMIS) in Zanzibar!!!
A Essential Emergency and Critical care HMIS Workshop was held on 24th & 25th June 2025 in Zanzibar Region to align and integrate developed EECC indicators with Zanzibar’s digital health infrastructure including ZanEMR, SHAMS and DHIS-2.
The sessions unpacked seven EECC indicators (5 for the HMIS and 2 for supportive supervision checklists), reviewed and proposed improvements in ZanEMR and SHAMS systems to support EECC indicator inclusion in DHIS-2
A collaboration by MoH-Zanzibar, UNICEF and MUHAS, the workshop marks a milestone in improving care for critically ill patients across the region. Smart data, stronger health systems, and a renewed commitment to saving lives.
