EECCiT KICK OFF MEETING

Essential Emergency and Critical Care (EECC) is the care that all critically ill patients should receive in all health facilities in the world. Early this year, Muhimbili University of Health and Allied Sciences (MUHAS) won a tender from UNICEF for an assignment to provide technical assistance for EECC integration into primary health care in Tanzania. Over the next 18 months, MUHAS will serve as technical experts to facilitate EECC in Tanzania (EECCiT), as EECC is implemented by the governments of Tanzania mainland and Zanzibar.

This EECCiT Kick-off meeting marks the beginning of this work and aims to bring together the 20 members of the extended MUHAS team for the first face-to-face meeting, to align the team’s understanding and plans for this potentially transformative piece of work. This two-day meeting will be held in March 2024 in Dar es Salaam and will feature a range of activities including presentations, group activities and interactive exercises. Team members will engage in productive brainstorming and networking sessions. Additionally, a team-building dinner is scheduled for the evening of March 21, 2024.
